Talentmaster's 19th Annual Morning Show Boot Camp
Aug 9th - 11th, Swissotel, Chicago.
SCHEDULE OF EVENTS*
THURSDAY AUGUST 9:
9:00 AM - MORNING THERAPY:
Even the happiest of shows have their occasional family quarrels. Others aren't so lucky. There's tension, anger, jealousy, contempt, back-stabbing, betrayal, money-problems, lying, distrust and for some, a daily hell. Do any of these apply to your show? Have you been part of shows that broke up because of them? Don't let it continue. As with any marriage or relationship, dealing with problems the right way could reap huge rewards. You owe it to yourselves, your employer, your listeners. In one of MSBC's most personal and perhaps emotional sessions ever, we've called on our favorite radio psychologist, Dr. Perry Buffington to lead our first ever, morning show, group therapy session. Known the world over for his books, lectures and seminars, he's prepared a special exercise for our attendees that could prove to be the most vital 60 minutes of your career!
10:30 AM - DANCIN' WITH THE SUITS:
Most morning hosts are natural born communicators. Of course, communicating with listeners vs GM's, SM's, Promotion Directors, Consultants, Advertisers or owners can be a whole other matter. How would you like to learn the same communication techniques used some of America's largest companies? Tips on how to negotiate better? How to build more productive relationships with department heads? Here's your chance. MSBC XIX is pleased to welcome Esther Jeles of Aylet Inc. to this year's agenda She and her associates consult several of the top creative and entertainment companies including 20th Century Fox, Chevrolet and Harpo Inc. Count this as a session you don't want to miss.
11:00 AM - BECOMING A MASTER STORYTELLER:
Is there really any more powerful tool for a high-profile personality than being able to tell stories effectively? Probably not. Now's your chance to master the art! At this year's MSBC, consultants Jaye Albright and Mike O'Malley will showcase actual techniques and examples used by many of the worlds most recognized and respected storytellers. Get the do's and don'ts; find out how to keep listeners on the edge of their seats with each and every story.
1:00 PM - PRODUCERS FORUM:
As PPM approaches, every break becomes more critical. Choosing guests & topics, who's coming up next hour, more pre-planning and prep, and how to keep listeners listening longer will become more important than ever. Translation: The producer's job has been more important. But just as the job grows more intense, tightening budgets and more constraints are making life as a producer one of the hottest seats in the house. Led by moderator Eric Rowe, a panel of top producers join in to discuss these issues and more for what promises to be one of the weekend's liveliest sessions! FEATURING THE FINAL REPORT FROM PROJECT 100: 2 guys, 100 markets in a 100 days; what they learned from the best! SPONSORED BY THE COMPLETE SHEET.
2:15 PM - WOMEN'S FORUM:
If TV's "The View" has taught us one thing, it's that women have a lot more to say than often thought. From politics to pop-culture, from tragedy to Hollywood gossip. This new straightforward, honest and open voice is quickly finding it's way into numerous morning shows across America and abroad. And the audience is taking notice. In this year's women's forum, moderator Angela Perelli leads a group of top women hosts in a discussion of the changing view and approach by women on morning radio.
